Stars' Antoine Roussel suspended two games for cross-check

Dallas Stars forward Antoine Roussel has been suspended two games for cross-checking Boston Bruins defenseman Adam McQuad in the neck area on Tuesday. Early in the first period of Tuesday night's game, Roussel hit McQuaid above the shoulders with the shaft of his stick. Roussel was assessed a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct.

Dallas Stars forward Antoine Roussel has been suspended two games for cross-checking Boston Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid in the neck area on Tuesday, the NHL Department of Player Safety announced on Thursday.

Early in the first period of Tuesday night's game, Roussel hit McQuaid above the shoulders with the shaft of his stick. Roussel was assessed a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct.

In 54 games this season, the 25-year-old Roussel has 11 goals and 11 assists. He will sit out Friday's game against the Florida Panthers and Saturday's game against the Colorado Avalanche.

The Stars are 25-21-8 and tied for the No. 10 seed in the Western Conference.
