Buffalo Sabres forward Patrick Kaleta will be out four to six weeks after undergoing minor surgery, head coach Ted Nolan announced on Monday

The type of surgery Kaleta had is undisclosed at this time. He missed the team's 2-1 loss to the Ottawa Senators on Sunday with what was described as a lower-body injury.

The 28-year-old is in his ninth NHL season and has spent his entire career with the Sabres. In 33 games this season, Kaleta has tallied three assists and 32 penalty minutes. For his career, he has 27 goals with 54 points and 548 penalty minutes. 

The Sabres are 16-37-3 this season and are sitting in eighth place in the Atlantic Division. Buffalo plays the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday.
