Report: Islanders defenseman Nick Leddy out at least two weeks

New York Islanders defenseman Nick Leddy will miss at least two weeks with an upper body injury. Leddy was injured in Monday’s win over the Maple Leafs and did not play in Tuesday’s loss to the Rangers. Leddy had played in 320 consecutive games.

New York Islanders defenseman Nick Leddy will miss at least two weeks with an upper body injury, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

Leddy was injured in Monday’s win over the Maple Leafs and did not play in Tuesday’s loss to the Rangers. Leddy had played in 320 consecutive games.

The 23-year-old has 10 goals and 19 assists this season, his first with the Islanders following four years with the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Islanders have lost four of their last six games and are 43-22-4 this season. They are tied with the Tampa Bay Lightning for the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference behind the Rangers and Montreal Canadiens.

The Islanders host the Ottawa Senators on Friday.
