Hurricanes' Cam Ward robs Penguins' David Perron with glove save
Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Cam Ward shut down Pittsburgh Penguins forward David Perron on Thursday in what could be the save of the year.
Coasting past the Hurricanes’ blue line after a pass from Sidney Crosby, Perron was aiming for a picture-perfect goal while down on one knee. A quick flash of Ward’s glove said no to that proposal.

The Hurricanes went on to blow out the Penguins 5-2, and Ward finished with 29 saves.
Ward’s highway robbery snapped a four-game losing streak for Carolina, a team that's already eliminated from playoff contention.
The Penguins are now just one point ahead of the Washington Capitals for third place in the Metropolitan Division after their loss.
