Hockey injuries are a pretty secretive business. Terms like 'upper-body injury' or 'maintenance day' drive plenty of speculation.

When Bruins defenseman Dougie Hamilton was sidelined indefinitely by an 'undisclosed injury' in late March, no one was really sure what to make of it. Thankfully, Kelly Olynyk, the Celtics power forward, helped shed some light on his Boston brethren's ailments following their win over the Pacers on Wednesday.

Via WEEI's Mike Petraglia:

After playing through a partially-closed black eye, Olynyk was asked if he thought about sitting out. His friendship with fellow Toronto native Hamilton kept him from the sidelines:

“I was texting Dougie Hamilton, and he told me that he broke his ribs and he was trying to come back before the playoffs. And I was like, ‘Man, I can’t sit out. He’s going to rip me.’ … All those hockey guys would kill me, so I had to do it.”

Seems Olynyk can add 'NHL Insider' to a growing NBA resume.
