Sabres call up defenseman Chad Ruhwedel from AHL Rochester

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) The Buffalo Sabres have recalled defenseman Chad Ruhwedel from their American Hockey League affiliate in Rochester, New York.

The 24-year-old Ruhwedel joins the Sabres for his second recall of the season. In two NHL games during his first time up in March, he recorded one assist and a plus-2 rating. Ruhwedel has 10 goals and 24 assists in 69 AHL games in 2014-15.

Now in his third season with the Sabres organization, the San Diego native has played in 30 NHL games. He signed a two-year contract extension with the club in July 2014.
