SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) San Jose Sharks coach Todd McLellan has been picked as head coach for Canada's national team at the upcoming World Championship.

Hockey Canada made the announced Tuesday that McLellan will run the team for the tournament in the Czech Republic from May 1-17.

Sharks assistant Jay Woodcroft will also be on the staff along with former New Jersey Devils coach Peter DeBoer and Carolina coach Bill Peters.
