New York defenseman Dan Girardi took a puck to the face during the third period of the Rangers' playoff game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday.
The puck, shot by the Pens Chris Kunitz, struck Girardi on the right side of his face. Girardi appeared dazed after the puck struck him.
He left the game and did not return.

There is no official word yet on the status of Girardi's injury.
The Rangers won 2-1 and will play Pittsburgh in Game 2 of the series Saturday night at Madison Square Garden.
