Yzerman, Murray, Sather finalists for NHL's GM of the Year award
The Anaheim Ducks' Bob Murray, the New York Rangers' Glen Sather and the Tampa Bay Lightning's Steve Yzerman are the finalists for the NHL's General Manager of the Year award, the league announced Friday.
Their teams are three of the four still alive in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Rangers led the Lightning 2–1 in the Eastern Conference finals going into Friday's game, while the Ducks lead the Chicago Blackhawks 2–1 in the Western Conference finals.
Murray, who won the GM of the Year award in 2014, helped construct a Ducks team that finished 51–24–7, the second-best record in franchise history and the top record in the Western Conference.

Sather's Rangers owned the top record in the Eastern Conference at 53–22–7 and won the Presidents' Trophy. The Rangers are in the Eastern Conference finals for the third time in the past four seasons.
Yzerman has led the Lightning to a record win total in the 2014-15 season (50) and helped construct a roster with only two holdovers from the team's 2011 Eastern Conference finals squad.
The GM of the Year award, along with the NHL's Rookie of the Year award and others, will be presented June 24 in Las Vegas.
