Blackhawks the odds-on favorite to win 2016 Stanley Cup
Too early? Maybe. But the first set of 2016 Stanley Cup title odds are out, and the Chicago Blackhawks are the favorites.
Bovada places Chicago, fresh off hoisting the trophy against Tampa Bay Lightning, at 7/1 to win what would be its fourth championship in seven years. The Blackhawks should return most of their core, with Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane's long-term extensions kicking in next month.
The New York Rangers, who fell to Tampa Bay in the Eastern Conference finals, are right behind the Blackhawks at 8/1. The Anaheim Ducks, whom Chicago knocked off in the Western Conference finals, sit at 10/1.
Tampa Bay has 12/1 odds to return to the Cup Finals and seek a better outcome. The St. Louis Blues have the same odds.
Looking for a long shot? Arizona, Buffalo and Carolina are all at 100/1.
