Watch: Sick shootout goal by KHL's Sergei Shumakov

Sergei Shumakov of the KHL's Novsibirsk Sibir scores an amazing shootout goal.

Sergei Shumakov hasn’t won the hearts of NHL scouts just yet, but with hands like these the 22-year-old won’t be flying below the radar much longer.

Shumakov, an undrafted forward currently playing with Novsibirsk Sibir of the KHL, scored an absolute beauty of a shootout goal in camp last week. In an amazing display of hand-eye coordination, he entered the zone with speed, flipped the puck into the air lacrosse-faceoff style, caught it on the back of his blade and then batted it down through the goalie’s five-hole. It’s the sort of play you’ll have to watch a couple of times to fully appreciate.

This isn’t the first time that Shumakov has made waves with his mitts. Check out this between-the-legs move that ended with a wrister tucked just under the crossbar. The kid just might have a future in this game.
