Matt Dumba scores twice, Wild rout visiting Jets 8-1

Nino Niederreiter, Charlie Coyle, Mikael Granlund and Matt Dumba scored first-period goals and the Minnesota Wild beat the visiting Winnipeg Jets 8-1 in an exhibition game Sunday night

Mikko Koivu, Zach Parise added second-period goals to chase Winnipeg starter Michael Hutchinson. Dumba made it 7-0 late in the second, Jonas Brodin also scored, and Devan Dubnyk made 18 saves.

Mathieu Perreault scored for Winnipeg.

Hutchinson allowed six goals on 18 shots in 30:16. Connor Hellebuyck made 10 saves the rest of the way.

KINGS TOP AVALANCHE IN SHOOTOUT

In Denver, Jonathan Quick and Peter Budaj combined to make 17 saves in the Los Angeles Kings' shootout victory over the Avalanche.

Quick stopped 10 of 11 shots in the first two periods, and Budaj made seven saves in the third and overtime.

Tanner Pearson and Dustin Brown scored in the shootout for the Kings, and Gabriel Landeskog connected for Colorado.

Los Angeles' Michael Mersch scored in the first period, and Tyson Barrie tied it in the second.

Colorado's Semyon Varlamov made 35 saves.

Before the game, the Kings sent center Andrew Crescenzi to Ontario of the American Hockey League, and defenseman Erik Cernak to Erie in the Ontario Hockey League.

SLAVIN, WARD HELP HURRICANES BEAT SENATORS

In St. John's, Newfoundland, Jaccob Slavin broke a tie with 5:10 left, and Cam Ward made 19 saves to help the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Ottawa Senators 2-1.

Brock McGinn opened the scoring the scoring for Carolina in the first period.

Shane Prince tied it in the second. Andrew Hammond made 24 saves for the Senators.

BRICKLEY LIFTS PANTERS OVER STARS

In Dallas, Connor Brickley broke a tie with 4:19 left and Roberto Luongo made 20 saves in the Florida Panthers' 4-2 victory over the Stars.

Jussi Jokinen, Travis Moen and Derek MacKenzie added goals.

Mattias Janmark and Reilly Smith scored for Dallas, and Kari Lehtonen made 17 saves shots.
