GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) The Arizona Coyotes have assigned center Dylan Strome to Erie of the OHL after their first-round pick from this year's draft made a strong push for a roster spot.

Arizona used the third overall pick in the 2015 draft on Strome, behind Connor McDavid of Edmonton and Jack Eichel of Buffalo.

The Coyotes are undergoing a youth movement and Strome was impressive during camp, but they decided to send him back to his junior team to gain more experience.

The Coyotes also assigned goalie Louis Domingue and left wing Matthias Plachta to Springfield of the AHL.
