Kane, Teravainen punctuate Blackhawks' highlight-reel night

Monday night was yet another highlight-filled night of Blackhawks hockey, which is to say it was another night of Blackhawks hockey.

With the Blackhawks and Kings tied 2-2 about midway through the third period at the United Center, Patrick Kane set up 21-year-old Teuvo Teravainen with a pass from behind the net that he buried to break the tie.

We’re not just talking about any old pass, though; that would be too easy for Showtime. Kane received the puck behind the Kings’ net and pivoted to throw a no-look behind-the-back pass out front to Teravainen, who beat a deceived Jonathan Quick.

The Blackhawks were not done there.

Forward Ryan Garbutt took a holding penalty late in the period, providing the Kings with a golden opportunity to tie the game, but Artem Anisimov had other ideas. With just 1:33 remaining in the game, Jonathan Toews hit Anisimov with a pass to send him in on a breakaway, and Anisimov finished with a smooth backhand-forehand deke.

This goal sealed a 4-2 Blackhawks win, snapping the Kings' seven-game winning streak. Chicago improved its record to 7-5-0, while Los Angeles fell to 7-4-0.
