Bruins forward Chris Kelly fractures femur vs. Stars, out 6-8 months

Just days after having to leave the ice after blocking a shot, Boston Bruins forward Chris Kelly looks to have suffered another injury. This one’s a little more cringe-worthy however.
Early on in the first period of the Bruins' matchup against the Dallas Stars, Kelly slipped and fell awkwardly after trying to strip the puck from Stars forward Colton Sceviour.

There appeared to be no contact on the play, though Kelly's knee looked to buckle from under him. He was tended to by team personnel before being carried off the ice. It was later announced the injury is a fractured left femur, shelving the center for 6-8 months.
