Detroit Red Wings winger Henrik Zetterberg became the 189th player to score 300 career NHL goals with his first-period tally against the Maple Leafs on Friday.

The milestone goal maybe wasn't the toughest he’s scored in his career, coming on a long shot from just over the Maple Leafs blue line on goaltender James Reimer. The puck hit Reimer's pad and popped up, floating into the Toronto net. The 35-year-old forward watched the puck trickle in for his fourth goal and 15th point of the season.

It may not have been his prettiest, but they all count the same on the stat sheet.

NOTEBOOK: Marchand's volatile emotions a growing concern for Bruins

Zetterberg, a seventh-round draft pick in 1999, is now one goal behind former Dallas Stars forward Ulf Dahlen for 188th on the all-time list, while teammate Pavel Datsyuk, currently sidelined by an ankle injury, is two behind him with 298 goals in his career.
