Avalanche LW Gabriel Landeskog ejected for high hit on Brad Marchand

Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog had his night cut short after he landed a dangerous hit on Bruins winger Brad Marchand on Thursday.
Early in the second period of a 2–2 game in Boston, Landeskog threw a high, blindside hit on Marchand, sending him twirling to the ice.

The head did not appear to be the principle point of contact, but Landeskog made contact high on a defenseless Marchand.
Marchand was not injured on the play, and immediately jumped up and got his revenge on Landeskog.

Landeskog was assessed a match penalty on the play, which warrants a review by the Department of Player Safety. He has never been suspended, but was fined in March of last season for punching Minnesota Wild center Mikko Koivu from the bench.
