Capitals centerman Evgeny Kuznetsov showed off some moves and wit to score a close-quarters goal against the Lightning on Saturday night.
In the second period, the 23-year-old Russian came in with speed to Ben Bishop’s left. However, rather than wrapping it around like Bishop thought, Kuznetsov waited for the goalie to leave room between the post and finished the stellar effort from completely behind the net.
His ninth goal of the year is one Kuznetsov’s going to remember for a while.
The tally extended Washington’s lead to 2–0 in a game the Capitals went on to win 2–1.
