Watch: Sabres’ Ryan O’Reilly scores OT winner vs. Kings while falling down

Sabres centerman Ryan O’Reilly scored quite the overtime winner against the Kings on Saturday night.

Ryan O’Reilly scored quite the overtime winner against the Kings on Saturday night.

Just past the 1:45 mark of the extra period, the Sabres centerman was tripped in the slot, but it didn’t matter. O’Reilly launched an off-balance wrister that still found its way past Kings goaltender Jhonas Enroth for the winning goal. The puck slid into the net at the same time O’Reilly fell backwards onto the ice.

The Sabres would have had a power play were it not for O’Reilly’s game-winner, but they’ll gladly take their 2–1 victory instead.

The goal was O’Reilly’s 10th of the season and the 100th of his career. It was also the second highlight goal for the Sabres on Saturday, coming after Jamie McGinn’s between-the-legs score in the second period.
