Patrick Kane's point streak at 26 games with assist against Canucks
Another game, another point for Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane.
Kane extended his point streak to 26 games thanks to a first-period assist on Duncan Keith's goal against the Vancouver Canucks. He found ArtemiPanarian, who picked up the rebound of his own shot, found Keith, who snapped it behind Ryan Miller for his fifth tally of the season.

It was Kane’s 27th assist of the season and 46th point overall, both league-leading totals. His 19 goals through 31 games are second only to Dallas Stars forward Jamie Benn's 20.
With the point, it is now the longest streak since Mats Sundin recorded a point in 30 straight, totaling 21-25-46 with the Quebec Nordiques in 1992-93. Officially just over halfway to Wayne Gretzky's record 51-game point streak from 1983-84, Kane continues to put himself in rarified air.

Gretzky has been vocal in his support of Kane's streak, saying it's harder to score nowadays.
“It would be hard to compare,” Gretzky told the Chicago Tribune Dec. 9. “It probably is harder for him to do what he has done but I know in my mind and my heart that to get to 51 games is pretty darn hard. Records are made to be broken. I'm going to watch him and if he breaks the record I'll be the first guy to shake his hand.”
