Watch: Sidney Crosby, Dion Phaneuf get into tussle near goal
Watch: Sidney Crosby, Dion Phaneuf get into tussle near goal in a game Wednesday night.
In Wednesday night’s game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Pittsburgh Penguins, a tussle broke out around Jonathan Bernier with less than a minute to go in the first period.
The Penguins were doing a solid job controlling the puck, which left the exhausted Leafs unable to exit the zone.
In an attempt to break up a play, Dion Phaneuf took down Sidney Crosby behind the net. The two got in the shoving match of the night.
While no gloves were dropped, they managed to knock each other a few times with sticks and fists before Phaneuf’s size took over. Crosby ended up on the bottom of a dog pile as the whistle blew.
The two ended with matching penalties and Crosby walking down the tunnel.
