Arizona Coyotes forward Shane Doan became the team’s all-time leading goal scorer on Thursday.

Doan, the 39-year-old team captain, scored his 380th career goal in the first period of Thursday’s game against the Winnipeg Jets, surpassing NHL Hall of Famer Dale Hawerchuk’s previous record of 379.

Doan, who has four goals in his last two games, now has 12 goals and 18 points on the season.

The seventh pick in the 1995 NHL draft, Doan originally joined the Coyotes when they were the Winnipeg Jets. He is the last remaining player from the former Jets squad, which became the Coyotes in 1996.

Doan, who led the Coyotes in scoring from 2003–2011, is in the final year of his contract with the team.
