In the first period, Kane entered crossed the Avalanche blue line, picking up a drop pass from rookie Artemi Panarin and then weaving his way through a trio of Colorado defenders. 

Eventually returning back to the point, Kane ripped a seeing-eye shot from the point that made it’s way through traffic, off the leg of goalie Semyon Varlamov and into the bottom corner of the net.

The forward scored his second and Chicago’s fourth goal of the game on a power play in the second period, giving him 25 goals this season, which ties him for second in the league with Dallas Stars forward Jamie Benn, second to Capitals’ Alex Ovechking (26). His 62 points on the season lead the NHL, nine ahead of Benn.
