Stick on fire, bow and arrow highlight KHL All-Star Skills Competition
Linus Omark’s career in the NHL was rather unspectacular. He scored only eight goals in 79 games spread across four seasons with the Edmonton Oilers and Buffalo Sabres, disappearing for long stretches that would be interrupted by occasional flashes of brilliance.
Since leaving the NHL last fall for the Kontinental Hockey League, Omark has found his mark. He racked up 47 points in 60 games with Jokerit Helsinki in 2014–15, parlaying that performance into a larger contract with Ufa Salavat Yulayev this season.
Omark hasn’t disappointed with his new team and was recently named a KHL All-Star after starting 2015–16 on fire with 51 points in 52 games.
He stayed on fire at the KHL All-Star Skills Competition… literally.

Omark’s stick-on-fire trick might not even be the most outrageous stunt attempted in the KHL All-Star Skills Competition. That might belong to Anatoly Golyshev, who took the term “Russian sniper” to a whole new level.
