Pens rally past Panthers, Crosby gets 900th point

Sidney Crosby notched his 900th career point on Saturday as the Penguins rallied to top the Panthers.

This has largely been a season to forget for Sidney Crosby. That doesn’t mean it won’t come without memorable moments.

One of those memorable moments for the Penguins captain came on Saturday, when he notched his 900th career point by assisting a Kris Letang goal against the Florida Panthers.

Letang’s goal kicked off a late comeback by Pittsburgh, which was losing 2–0 with six minutes remaining in the third period. Crosby soon scored to tie the game and later assisted on Letang’s game-winning goal in overtime, giving the Penguins a 3–2 win.

Crosby joined Mario Lemieux and JaromirJagr as the only Penguins to ever register 900 career points. He became the 10th fastest player in league history to reach the mark (677 games).

Crosby now has 324 goals and 578 assists. He has scored a goal in six consecutive games and has points in 10 straight.

The Penguins are now in third place in the Metropolitan Division.
