Watch: Carl Hagelin burns former team with goal

Penguins forward Carl Hagelin burned his former team with a goal on Monday night.

Since being dealt from the Anaheim Ducks to the Pittsburgh Penguins last month, speedy forward Carl Hagelin didn't find the back of the net in his first eight games. He finally found it on Monday night, and did so in a big way.

The Ducks cut the Penguins lead to one on a Ryan Getzlaf goal in the final minute of the first period, but with just over 20 seconds remaining in the period Hagelin accepted a breakout pass from Penguins forward Phil Kessel. And as Hagelin is prone to do, he accelerated past the defenseman for a breakaway against Ducks goalie John Gibson. Hagelin roofed a backhand shot to give the Penguins a two-goal cushion heading into the first intermission.

KLOKE: Free-agent laden Coyotes will be wise to trade players

It’s got to feel good for Hagelin to break his cold streak against the Ducks.
