Watch: Pavel Datsyuk nets 900th point in Red Wings’ win

Pavel Datsyuk cemented his place in elite company, notching his 900th career point in the Red Wings’ win over the Bruins on Sunday.

The Red Wings and Bruins combined for 11 goals on Sunday, paced by none other than the Magic Man himself, Pavel Datsyuk. 

Datsyuk added a trio of points to his career total, including his 900th on a first period goal:

The inimitable forward finished the game with two goals and an assist, adding another tally in the second period and then assisting on Henrik Zetterberg’s game-winning goal in the third period.

Datsyuk became the sixth player to hit the milestone in a Detroit uniform. The other five—Gordie Howe, Steve Yzerman, Sergei Fedorov, Nicklas Lidstrom and Alex Delvechhio—are all already in the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Currently, Datsyuk sits 14th among active scorers, six behind Sidney Crosby, who reached the 900-point plateau on February 6, and in 251 games fewer than Datsyuk’s 928. His 593 assists, all with Detroit, places him seventh among those currently in the NHL.
