Rangers goalie Antti Raanta’s new mask pays tribute to NYPD

Monday February 22nd, 2016

New York Rangers goalie Antti Raanta has a new mask that pays tribute to the New York Police Department.

The mask was done by David Gunnarsson, the artist behind DaveArt, who has created different mask designs for numerous NHL goalies.

According to a Facebook post from Gunnarsson, Raanta’s alter ego is a cowboy dog that is often displayed on the goaltender’s mask. The mask itself serves as a police car, while the dog transforms into a NYPD officer.
