The Florida Panther is now tied for third alltime in career points in the NHL thanks to an assist on Erik Gubrandson’s goal in the first period of Florida’s game in Colorado on Thursday.

Jagr tied Gordie Howe with 1,850 points and trails Mark Messier, who is in second with 1,887. Wayne Gretzky holds the record for all-time points with 2,857.

Howe reached his total in 1,687 games, while Jagr is playing in his 1,611th game. The veteran also played in the KHL from 2008–2011.

The assist marked the 44-year-old’s 48th point of the season.

Jagr still trails Howe in the alltime goal race though, tallying 743 goals so far while Howe racked up 801. Gretzky also holds the league lead with 894 goals.
