Islanders goalie Jaroslav Halak is out at least six weeks with a lower body injury, head coach Jack Capuano told reporters Wednesday.

Halak left Tuesday night’s game against the Penguins late in the third period after injuring himself while making a save.

There are four weeks left in the regular season and the Islanders are in third place in the Metropolitan division, five points ahead of the Red Wings, who hold the last Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.

Halak has started 36 games and has a .919 save percentage. He also missed two weeks earlier this season with an upper body injury.
