Watch: Sabres’ Bogosian hits rebound out of air for goal

Sabres defenseman Zach Bogosian put his hand-eye coordination on display on Wednesday, knocking his own rebound out of the air for a goal against the Canadiens.

If at first you don’t succeed, just try again like Buffalo Sabres’ defenseman Zach Bogosian did against the Montreal Canadiens Wednesday night.  

Halfway through a first-period power play, Bogosian picked up a pass from center Ryan O’Reilly and fired off a shot on Habs goalie Ben Scrivens. The netminder made the initial save, but in doing so delivered a pop up—right back to Bogosian.

It looks like a bunt, but it was a clearly a home run, one that put the Sabres up 1-0.

This was Bogosian’s fifth goal and 19th point of the season, his first full season in Buffalo since being acquired with Evander Kane from Winnipeg.
