Columbus Blue Jackets forward Jared Boll has been suspended four games for interference against Philadelphia Flyers forward Pierre-Edouard Bellemare, the league announced Thursday.

Boll, who also faces a $82,000 fine for the Tuesday incident, was granted the suspension because the hit was deemed “both excessively late and incredibly forceful” on a player who was not eligible to be checked.

The 29-year-old is considered a repeat offender, as his most recent suspension occurred less than one year ago.

Boll has just one goal and two points over his 28 games with Columbus this season.
