Watch: Avalanche end Blues’ franchise record shutout streak

Mikhail Grigorenko's goal for the Avalanche ended the St. Louis Blues' franchise-record shutout streak at 258:29.

The St. Louis Blues have been hard to score against lately.

In fact, St. Louis rode a franchise-record shutout streak of 240:18 into Tuesday’s game against the Colorado Avalanche. The streak grew to 258:29 before finally falling when the Avalanche’s Mikhail Grigorenko finished off a nifty feed from Tyson Barrie behind Blues netminder Brian Elliott at 18:12 of the first period.

The Blues’ streak had been built by three straight Elliott shutouts and one blanking from Jake Allen against the Washington Capitals on Saturday. Allen’s personal streak is still alive and sits at 60:18.
