Watch: Penguins’ Crosby scores on breakaway in Game 1

Sidney Crosby put the Penguins up 2-0 in Game 1, torching the Rangers with this beautiful goal.

Sidney Crosby certainly knows how to make his presence known.

In the final minutes of the second period of Game 1 against the New York Rangers, the Pittsburgh Penguins captain bumped his team up to a 2-0 lead with a speedy breakaway snipe.

Rangers defenseman Dan Girardi fired a shot from the offensive blue line, and the rebound went right to Penguins forward Patric Hornqvist, who sent a long pass up the middle between Girardi and Marc Staal right onto the stick of Crosby. And well… it went a little something like this:

That’s probably going to give nightmares to Antti Raanta, who is filling in for an injured Henrik Lundqvist in the New York net.
