Rangers captain Ryan McDonagh (hand) practiced on Monday, but is not expected to play in Game 3 against the Penguins, Andrew Gross of The Recordreports.

McDonagh was a full participant in practice for the first time since April 4, when he injured his hand while blocking a shot against Columbus. He missed the team’s final three regular-season games and the first two games of the Rangers’ opening-round playoff series.

While McDonagh likely won’t play, coach Alain Vigneault did not completely rule out a Game 3 return.

“Stranger things have happened,” he said, according to The Record

The Rangers and Penguins will be play Game 3 on Tuesday at Madison Square Garden. The series is tied at one game apiece.
