Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Evgeny Medvedev was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of DUI, police have confirmed.

Medvedev, 33, was stopped early Wednesday morning in Lower Moreland, Pa., for a traffic violation, and later arrested. According to the report, Medvedev was released from police custody.

Medvedev, who earned $3 million with Philadelphia in his first NHL season, will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. He had four goals and nine assists for the Flyers during the 2015–16 campaign.
