Darryl Sutter agrees to new contract with Kings

The Los Angeles Kings and coach Darryl Sutter have agreed to terms on a new contract, the team announced Friday.
The multi-year contract begins in the upcoming 2016–17 season.
The terms of the contract have not yet been released, but Sutter is expected to make in excess of $3 million per season.
General manager Dean Lombardi said last week that the team had extended a contract to Sutter, calling the dollar amount “very fair.”
Sutter has posted a 186–112 record since joining the Kings for the 2011–12 season. He holds a 42–27 playoff record, and led the team to Stanley Cup championships in 2012 and 2014.

The Kings were eliminated from the 2016 playoffs in the first round by the San Jose Sharks.
