The Pittsburgh Penguins won the Stanley Cup on Sunday with a 3–1 win over the San Jose Sharks, and newspapers across the country emblazoned their front pages and sports sections with tributes to the Penguins’ fourth title in franchise history.
Brian Dumoulin, Kris Letang and Patric Hornqvist all scored for the Penguins, securing their Game 6 victory with goals across all three periods. Logan Couture netted a goal for the Sharks to even the score at one in the second period, but San Jose was never able to take the lead.
Below are some of the covers commemorating the Penguins’ first title win in seven years.
