Todd Bertuzzi’s nephew, Tyler Bertuzzi, scored a ridiculous goal at Red Wings camp last week.

Bertuzzi savagely used his stick to dislodge the twig of a defender, then maneuvered the puck around his outstretched skate and went in for a backhander. It was very incredible, and disrespectful, at the same time. And, no, it’s not slashing, because Bertuzzi got under his defender’s stick, he didn’t come over the top.

This is pretty much the coolest thing that can possibly happen at development camp.

Bertuzzi, a 21-year-old from Greater Sudbury, Canada, is a prospect in Detroit’s system. He might rise rapidly with skills like this.
