Amanda Kessel takes a drink from the Stanley Cup

Amanda Kessel’s pretty great 2016 somehow got even better, as she got the chance to sip from the Stanley Cup.

It’s been a pretty good year for Amanda Kessel.

The star forward finished her collegiate hockey career by leading Minnesota to an NCAA title and then made waves by signing a contract with the NWHL’s New York Riveters, becoming the league’s highest paid player in the process.

Oh, and since brother Phil won the Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins and brought it home to Wisconsin, she got to check off one more thing from her hockey bucket list: taking a sip from hockey’s silver chalice.

How does her 2016 get better from here? That remains to be seen, but the puck doesn’t drop on the Riveters’ season until later this year, so there’s somehow still time for improvement.
