Watch: Canada scores fastest goal in Olympic women’s soccer history

Twenty seconds into their match against Australia on Wednesday, Canada had a one-goal lead—as well as an Olympic record.

Janine Beckie scored the opening goal of the group stage game for the Canadian side a mere 20 seconds after a kickoff, a record for the fastest goal in an Olympic women's soccer match. The score gave Canada an early lead the team would carry into halftime.

Zimbabwe and Germany will face each other later Wednesday in another Group F match.
