Malaga signs Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa to three-year deal

Friday August 1st, 2014

Malaga has signed Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa on a free transfer, the team announced Friday.

The goalkeeper was a free agent after he did not re-sign with French club AC Ajaccio.

Malaga announced the 29-year-old has passed his physical.

The club's statement calls Ochoa "one of the best goalkeepers of the recent World Cup." Ochoa helped the Mexican national team reach the round of 16, notably holding Brazil to a 0-0 draw during the group stage.

The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
