Paris St-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will miss Tuesday's Champions League match against his former club, Barcelona.
Paris St-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will miss Tuesday's Champions League match against former club Barcelona, the club announced Monday.
Ibrahimovic has missed PSG's last two Ligue 1 matches with a left heel injury.
In a statement, PSG said a diagnostic test on the heel was negative but Ibrahimovic would still miss Tuesday's match.
In five Ligue 1 matches this season, Ibrahimovic has scored five goals for the French club.
Entering Monday, Paris St-Germain is the only Ligue 1 team which remains unbeaten, at 3-5-0. The club's 14 points puts it in fourth place.
Ibrahimovic joined Barcelona for £57m in 2009, signing a five-year contract. In his only season with the club, Ibrahimovic and Barcelona won La Liga, the Spanish Super Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup. He left on loan to AC Milan in 2011 because he and then-manager Pep Guardiola did not get along.
Earlier this month, Ibrahimovic released an autobiography in which he called Guardiola a "spineless coward."
Paris St-Germian and Barcelona were drawn into Group F in the Champions League, along with Ajax and Apoel Nicosia.
PSG drew Ajax in their opening game. Barcelona beat Apoel Nicosia.
Paris St-Germain made it to the quarterfinals of last year's Champions League before losing to Chelsea on away goals.
