PSG forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic (heel) not ready to return

Thursday October 16th, 2014

Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not fully recovered from a heel injury and will miss the team's match against Lens on Friday, The Associated Press reports.

Ibrahimovic has not played in PSG's last four matches since injuring his heel last month. He also missed Sweden's Euro 2016 qualifying matches against Russia and Liechtenstein.

Coach Laurent Blanc said Thursday that "his injury is healing well, but not enough for him to come back into the squad."

Despite missing half of the team's games, Ibrahimovic is still the team's leading scorer with five goals. Ibrahimovic scored 26 goals in league play for PSG last season.

PSG is tied for third place in Ligue 1 despite being the only unbeaten team in the league. The club plays at Lens on Friday at 2:30 p.m. ET.
