Dynamo trade midfielder Andrew Driver to D.C. United

The Houston Dynamo have traded midfielder Andrew Driver and its 2016 fourth-round pick to D.C. United in exchange for goalie Joe Willis and defender Samuel Inkoom, the clubs announced on Monday.

The 27-year-old Driver played the last two seasons for the Dynamo on loan from Heart of Midlothian. The Scottish midfielder made 60 appearances and accumulated three goals and two assists during his time with Houston. He started all 34 games in 2014.

Houston finished in eighth place in the Eastern Conference last season with 39 points.

Willis, 26, has spent his entire four-year career with United following a college career at the University of Denver. He has saved 71 percent of shots faced and has a 6-13-4 career record in 23 career appearances.

Inkoom, 25, played in two games this season after joining the club in September. He has made 46 caps for the Ghana national team.

United finished in first place in the Eastern Conference with a 17-8-9 regular season record. The club lost to the New York Red Bulls in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
