Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge to rehab with Boston Red Sox
Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge will travel to the United States to rehab with medical specialists for the Boston Red Sox. according to the BBC. He had previously been rehabbing in Los Angeles.
Sturridge has dealt with injuries all season and has played in just three league games. He originally injured his thigh in early September on international duty with England. In October, as he was poised to come back, Sturridge strained his calf. He returned to training in November but re-injured his thigh and was shut down until the end of the year.
Sturridge's Boston rehab will take place over Christmas. Liverpool owner John Henry also owns the Red Sox.
Sturridge and teammate Luis Suarez finished first and second in the Premier League in goals last season. With Suarez sold to Barcelona and Sturridge sidelined, Liverpool has struggled offensively. The club has just 19 goals in 16 league games and sits 11th in the Premier League table.
