The Ghana Football Association said Gyan was admitted to a hospital in Mongomo in Equatorial Guinea on Saturday evening and released on Sunday morning.
"The illness was detected at an early stage and Gyan is responding well to treatment," the GFAsaid in a statement on its website.
The GFA listed Gyan as doubtful for the match. Gyan has not trained for the past two days, and the BBC reports doctors are closely monitoring him to see if he will be available for future matches.
