Engen provides depth at center back for the U.S., becoming one of the usuals in camp with frequent call-ups in 2014. She started for Swedish club Tyresö through its 2014 Champions League run to the final, playing 90 minutes in the last match before joining the NWSL. Engen also played for Liverpool after the collapse of WPS.
She comprises part of a long line of University of North Carolina players to make the national team and one of six Tar Heels on this squad.
