Watch: Gyasi Zardes scores first goal for U.S. men's national team

Friday June 5th, 2015

U.S. men's national team forward Gyasi Zardes scored his first career goal with the senior team in Friday's friendly against the Netherlands.

Fabian Johnson found Zardes with a perfectly placed cross from outside the box and the 23-year-old LA Galaxy striker put the ball on net. It bounced off the leg of Dutch goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen and into the goal.

The U.S. was playing without its two top strikers, Clint Dempsey and Jozy Altidore.

Zardes, 23, made his national team debut in January and has now appeared in six international matches. He has three goals in 14 games for the Galaxy this season.
