Barcelona striker Neymar is expected to be out for at least two weeks after being diagnosed with mumps, the team announced Sunday.
Neymar had been vaccinated for the disease according to the team, but still contracted it anyway. He will miss at least three matches—the European Super Cup final against Sevilla, and the Spanish Super Cup against Athletic Bilbao on Aug. 14 and 17.
Neymar is also in jeopardy of missing the La Liga opener on Aug. 23.
The 23-year-old Brazilian striker scored 39 goals last season, during which Barcelona won the Copa del Rey, La Liga, and UEFA Champions League titles.
Neymar's absence short absence should not spell huge trouble for Barcelona. Last season, Neymar's teammates Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi combined for 83 goals of their own.
